Java program formatting inputs?

Hey guys i could really use some help here. i need to write a program thats prompts the user to enter a social security number in the format DDD-DD-DDDD, where D is a digit. The program displays" valid SSN" for correct SSN and " invalid" for a wring SSN.. thanks a lot
