Any ideas for modern day villains that are SIMILAR to Sweeney Todd!?!?

I just got an English paper for school. We are supposed to write a 2 1/2 to 3 page paper on a Victorian villain and how they are similar/different to a modern age villain. I have chosen Sweeney Todd to be my Victorian villain. Now, I just need ideas on any modern ones. I thought of The Joker...but mainly just because he's my favorite villain! lol I don't think that would work too well, now would it!? I mean, I'm sure I could find SOME simlarities...but not too many, is my guess. If anyone has any ideas, that would be GREAT!!! Thank you!! (:
