How can the uk and us come across as the good guys?

It seems strange to me how the uk can be so good bout no nukes, but im a ex raf copper an within the last 2 years i have seen more nuclear material p through my airbase i should be glowing green, so how can tony blair and his goody goody buddys say the world shuld be nuke free?
